Public Safety

Operational buildings for civil-security services: emergency-vehicle bays, dormitories, command rooms, specialised equipment and training infrastructure.

iKas Global is leading the construction of the very first fire station for the city of Goma (North Kivu) — a critical infrastructure for the safety of a growing metropolis exposed to specific volcanic and urban risks.

Civil-security buildings impose unique functional requirements:

  • Bays with fast doors for emergency vehicles (fire trucks, ambulances)

  • Hose-drying masts, fire poles, dressing rooms

  • Dormitories, men/women locker rooms, on-duty catering

  • Command room with crisis telephony and GIS interfaces

  • Training tower or area (drills, height rescue)

  • Water reserves sized for intervention

We work in close consultation with unit commanders to integrate operational lessons-learned from the design phase.

Requirements & Prerequisites

  • Operational definition of the service (staff, vehicles, missions)

  • Land at the centre or edge of the intervention zone

  • Specific requirements (training, housing, water reserves)

  • Compliance with national civil-security standards

  • Coordination with partner services (police, civil protection)

Typical Deliverables

  • Architectural design optimised for intervention flows

  • Construction of the building and operational amenities

  • Installation of specific equipment (masts, slides, sirens)

  • Water reserves, fire-service connections, hydrants

  • Commissioning with evacuation drills

  • Operational documentation and as-built drawings
