Civil engineering

Our engineers and site managers design and deliver civil-engineering works built to withstand the most demanding conditions: heterogeneous ground, mining loads, hydraulic constraints, seismic requirements. We work equally well on institutional projects and on industrial sites in operation.

Civil engineering is the backbone of iKas Global's know-how. Our multidisciplinary teams — geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, hydraulic specialists, site managers — cover the entire lifecycle of an asset: preliminary geotechnical investigations, structural design, execution, quality control, monitoring and maintenance.

Foundations and subsurface works
We master the full range of foundation techniques: shallow footings, rafts, bored piles, micropiles, diaphragm walls, sheet piles. Every solution is sized on the basis of rigorous geotechnical studies (boreholes, pressuremeter and penetrometer tests) to guarantee long-term performance and cost efficiency.

Structures and engineering works
Reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, structural steel, composite structures: our teams design and build bridges, jetties, retaining walls, culverts, hydraulic structures and industrial frames. We apply Eurocode, ACI or BS standards depending on client requirements.

Roads, platforms and utility networks (VRD)
From local access roads to heavy industrial platforms, we design and build pavements sized for mining and logistics traffic: bulk earthworks, stabilized formations, bituminous base layers, asphalt or concrete wearing courses. Our utility-network services cover sewerage, stormwater, water supply and electricity.

Hydraulics and drainage
In a country exposed to intense seasonal rainfall, controlling water flows is critical. iKas Global designs drainage works, retention basins, crossing structures and bank protection, supported by validated hydraulic models.

Reference: METALKOL — Mutoshi (Lualaba)
Construction of jetties and access roads on an active mining site under stringent HSE constraints: co-activity with mining operations, restricted access, high quality requirements. The project was delivered on time, with zero HSE incidents.
